27/11/11 - South Coast Open Junior Championships

On Sunday was the South Coast Open Junior Championships at Worthing. We had 5 members from the club enter who were, Billy, Bradley, Andrew, Jamie & Emma.

Billy had 2 fights, sadly lost them both but really enjoyed the day as it was his first competition outside of Tonbridge.

Bradley had 4 fights, lost his first 3 fights, but then came back and won the last fight. Again, like Billy, this was Bradley's first competition outside of Tonbridge.

'Both boys did themselves, the club, and myself proud as not only have they branched out to a different comp and a new environment, but they looked at as their next step in their judo career and have set it their target to come back to Worthing for more bigger competitions. Well done!' - Larry

Jamie had 2 fights, lost both of them but put a brilliant effort for this first competition.

Andrew had 3 fights, won his first, but lost his last two, and showed a good performance, even though he'd not been to a competition for a while.

Emma had 3 fights, lost them all, but was fighting girls 2-3 belts higher then her own, and gave it her all!
