On Sunday was the Southern Trails which was held at Worthing. We had one members attend this competition which was Hayley.

Hayley had 2 fights, won both fights and got gold and got selected the represent the Ladies Sussex Intercounties Team.

On Saturday was the National Individual Championships which was held at Sheffield. We had one members attend this competition which was Hayley.

Hayley was in the U57KG group for the first time. She had 4 fights, won the first, lost the second, but then won the third fight to go on to the final where she beat a 1st Dan for gold that she had lost to earlier in the competition.

On Sunday was the Senior Kyu Grade And Masters Competition which was held at Worthing. We had five members attend this competition which were, James, Shaun, Mark, Hayley and Larry.

James had just 2 fights, sadly lost them all but came back with bronze.

Shawn had 3 fights in his first ever competition, lost the first fight but came back and held down the second to win it and then sadly lost the last but came back with bronze.

Mark fought in two sections, the seniors and the masters. In the seniors Mark had 2 fights and won them all and got gold. In the masters Mark again had only 2 fights sadly lost them both but came back with a bronze as well.

Hayley had a massive 8 fights including a golden score in one of the fights. She was split in to two groups, the first group she won all 3 of her fights and got gold, but she was put into another group so she could earn some points for her black belt. She had 3 fights in this group, winning the first two fights and sadly losing the other two but she received 10 points as she beat one of opponents with an ippon score.

Larry had 4 fights winning the first fight with an ippon score, sadly losing the next two fights but came back and won the last with an ippon score and received silver and 20 points towards his black belt.

On Sunday was the South Coast Open Competition which was held at Worthing. We had four members from the club go to the competition which were Martin, Casey, Cameron and Andrew.

Casey had 4 fights and really well and won them all coming away with a gold medal.

Martin had also had 4 fights sadly lost them all, didn't come away with anything but was a good experience for him.

Cameron had 3 fights, also sadly lost them all but but also gain experience out of it as it was his first at a competition like this.

Andrew also had 3 fights, sadly lost them all but fought really hard and well and like the others gain a good amount of experience out of it all.
