On Sunday was the Class Masters Christmas Event held at Tonbridge. We had 14 members enter the competition who were, Edward, Josh, Leon, Izzy, Caitlin, Jessie, Oliver, Guy, Ethan, Guy, Harry, Theo, Bradley, Jamie and Nicole.

Edward had 4 fights, sadly lost them all but came away with bronze.

Josh had 4 fights, sadly also lost them, but really put a good fight. He came away with bronze and a 'Spirit of Judo'.

Leon had 4 fights, lost them all, but also put up a good fight. He came away with bronze aswell and a 'Spirit of Judo'.

Izzy had 4 fights, lost them all, but fought like a little trooper and also managed to get out of a hold down. She came away with bronze and a 'Spirit of Judo'.

Caitlin had 4 fights, lost them all, and came away with bronze aswell and a 'Spirit of Judo'.

Jessie had 4 fights, won the first, but lost the others, and came away with bronze.

Oliver had 4 fights, lost his first three, but won his last fight, and also came away with bronze.

Guy had 4 fights, lost first two, but came back to win his last two. He came away with bronze and a 'Spirit of Judo'.

Ethan had 3 fights, won his first three fights, but sadly lost his last fight and came away with bronze.

Harry had 5 fights, won his first three fights, lost his fourth, but came back to win his last. He came away with silver and a 'Spirit of Judo'.

Theo had 4 fights, won all 4 and came away with gold and a 'Spirit of Judo'.

Jamie had 4, won all 4 and came away with gold.

Nicole had also 4 fights, won all 4 and came away with gold.

 

On Sunday was the South Coast Open Junior Championships at Worthing. We had 5 members from the club enter who were, Billy, Bradley, Andrew, Jamie & Emma.

 

Billy had 2 fights, sadly lost them both but really enjoyed the day as it was his first competition outside of Tonbridge.

Bradley had 4 fights, lost his first 3 fights, but then came back and won the last fight. Again, like Billy, this was Bradley's first competition outside of Tonbridge.

'Both boys did themselves, the club, and myself proud as not only have they branched out to a different comp and a new environment, but they looked at as their next step in their judo career and have set it their target to come back to Worthing for more bigger competitions. Well done!' - Larry

 

Jamie had 2 fights, lost both of them but put a brilliant effort for this first competition.

Andrew had 3 fights, won his first, but lost his last two, and showed a good performance, even though he'd not been to a competition for a while.

Emma had 3 fights, lost them all, but was fighting girls 2-3 belts higher then her own, and gave it her all!

On Sunday was the Class Master Summer Event which was held at Tonbridge. We had 4 players enter this competition which were, Edward, Jesse, Caitlin & Jamie.

Edward had 4 fights, lost them all but came away with bronze and a Spirit Of Judo.

Jesse had 4 fights, also lost them and came away with bronze and a Spirit Of Judo.

Caitlin had 4 fights, also lost them and came away with bronze.

Jamie had 5 fights, fought really well winning 4 of his fights and losing one resulting him coming away with a silver.

On Sunday was the Senior Kyu Grade, Dan And Master Competition and we had 4 members take part in the competition which were: Larry, Mark, James (Farley) and Tony.

Tony was first up, he had four fights and won them all; one of them with a nice Tomoe-nage and came back with his first gold from his first competition!

Larry and James were called up next. James had 2 fights; one of them being against Larry as they both had been put in the same group.

He ended up losing to Larry but put up a good fight. After that fight James had to pull out due to injury and missed out on his last fight but came back with forth bronze.

Larry had 3 fights including the one with James. He lost the other two fights but was happy with his performance as he was giving away about 20kg to his opponents, but with his win he had earn 't another 10 points towards his dan grade and got third bronze.

Mark had 2 fights; lost one and won one with a lovely drop Ippon-seoi Nage and came away with silver and his first 10 points towards his dan grade.

Tony and Mark then both got called back up as they had both entered the Masters part of the competition.

Tony and Mark both did really well and held their own in the fights. They both had 2 fights and lost them both, but fought a first dan and second dan each. Mark didn't come back with anything for this part of the competition, but Tony ended up getting bronze as he had lost to silver and gold medallist.

On Sunday was the annual Class Master Christmas Judo Event and we had a massive 14 members attend the competition which were: Amy, Christie-Rose, Harry (Chandler,) Herculas, Andries, Sophie, Casey, Cameron, Alex, Harry (Farley,) Andrew, Tom (Hillyard,) Ben & Tom (Farley.)

Amy had 3 fights, won two of them and lost one and came back with a well disserved gold from her first ever competition.

Christie-Rose also had 3 fights, lost her first and then came back and one her second, but sadly lost her last fight but came back with bronze.

Herculas had 3 fights, sadly lost them all but came away with a bronze medal.

Harry (Chandler) had 3 fights, won his first, lost his second fight but went on to win his third and final fight and came away with a silver medal and was presented with the Spirit Of Judo award for his group.

Andries had 3 fights, lost his first and then came back and one his second, but sadly lost his last fight but came back with bronze.

Sophie had 3 fights, sadly lost them all but came away with a bronze medal and was presented with the Spirit Of Judo award for her group.

Alex had only 2 fights, sadly lost them all but fought really well and hard and came away with a bronze medal.

Casey had 4 fights, lost her first fight, went on to win her next fight but lost her next one and finished up with a win for her last one, coming away with silver.

Cameron had 3 fights, fought very well and hard and won all of his fights coming away with gold.

Harry (Farley) had 3 fights, won two of them and lost one and came back with a well disserved gold after a brilliant performance in all his fights.

Andrew had 3 fights, fought very well and won all of his fights coming away with gold.

Tom (Farley) had 3 fights, sadly lost them all but came away with a bronze medal after a brilliant performance.

Tom (Hillyard) had a massive 5 fights, won the first four but sadly lost the last one and only just missed on the gold medal by a couple of points and came back with a well disserved silver.

Ben had 3 fights, sadly lost them all but came away with a bronze medal and was presented with the Spirit Of Judo award for his group.
